Igniting the Flame of the Heart - Experiencing the Enneagram through the Dances of Universal Peace

"Ultimately, the benefit of studying the enneagram comes not from knowing more and more about how one is fixated psychologically, but in following the stirring of the call back to the reality of who we are." ~ Debra Janison
The Enneagram provides a map of consciousness that helps us better understand ourselves and others. We will focus in depth on the Enneagram of the Virtues. The Virtues are the dynamic expression of truth in the world. Work with the Virtues can create a shift from realization to actualization - the capacity to embody and live the Virtues. This work can open the way for the descent of grace and the conversion of our hearts. Through the medium of the Dances of Universal Peace, we move out of the mode of thinking about the Enneagram into experiencing spiritual presence and intelligence directly. These dances are a form of meditation-in-motion, combining simple circle dances with singing of sacred phrases, honoring the unifying core of the world's spiritual traditions.
Co-created and facilitated by: N'Shama Sterling, Kibriya Renie HopeAlia Calendar.  Friday, October 25th, 7:00-10:00PM, and Saturday, October 26th, 9:00AM – 5:00 PM
$125 - early registration discount if postmarked by 10/11/13; $140 – after 10/11/13

Yoga with Victor Van Kooten

There are still a few spaces left in the upcoming special weekend workshop with Victor Van Kooten this October 11-13th, to be held at m’illumino.
Victor is an internationally acclaimed yoga teacher who has been at the cutting edge of the modern yoga movement for over 40 years. Together with his wife, Angela Farmer, he has been developing a unique style of teaching yoga, sometimes referred to as “Yoga from the inside-out.”
Victor and Angela now live in Greece and their travel schedule is slowing; this is a rare opportunity to experience his teaching in an intimate setting here in the Northwest.
Victor’s approach is more somatics-based than much of what is found in traditional yoga teaching; instead of teaching poses to the body, disciplining the body with external commands, he helps his students enliven their bodies so that Asanas evolve from an inner need to explore further and unwind old blockages and holdings.
The workshop is suitable for all levels and promises to be a wonderful experience!

Victor is also an amazing artist and is known to produce drawings in his classes to illustrate the movement of energy in the body through imagery. Here is a link to see some of his yoga books:

Dancing the Nine-Pointed Star

Experiencing the Enneagram of the Holy Ideas

through the Dances of Universal Peace

with N'Shama Stirling, Kibriya Renie Hope, Alia Calendar

The Enneagram provides a map of consciousness to help us better understand ourselves and others. This workshop offers participants an opportunity to experience the Enneagram of the Holy Ideas, which provides a glimpse of reality as it is when not viewed through the lens of our personality.

Through the medium of the Dances of Universal Peace, we move out of the mode of thinking about the Enneagram into experiencing spiritual presence and intelligence directly. These dances are a form of meditation-in-motion,combining simple circle dances with singing of sacred phrases, honoring the unifying core of the world's spiritual traditions.

Dances will be selected to exemplify the Enneagram of the Holy Ideas. Each dance will be selected to invoke the Holy Idea for each point of the Enneagram followed by a brief discussion of the experience.

Turning our attention toward and opening ourselves to be touched by the Holy Ideas is one way to begin the journey to our true self.
