Rubenfeld Synergy Method® with Karin Granstrom

Karin Granstrom,  M.D., CRS (Certified Rubenfeld Synergist), has her medical degree from Sweden, where she was a physician for 20 years before moving to the US. In the work with her patients she clearly saw the influence that stress and emotional pain has on health and disease. Fascinated by  the interconnection between body and mind, she chose to study mind-body medicine and mind-body therapy (Rubenfeld Synergy) in the United States. This work changed her approach to medicine, as well as to life itself. It helped her find her own authentic, joyful self behind tension and fatigue and old habitual patterns. It has since become her passion to help others get in touch with their inner resources and make concrete improvements in their daily lives and relationships.

What is Rubenfeld Synergy?

The Rubenfeld Synergy Method is a holistic therapy that integrates body, mind, spirit, and emotions. Developed by Ilana Rubenfeld in the 1960s, Rubenfeld Synergy uses gentle touch, along with verbal dialogue, active listening, Gestalt Process, imagery, metaphor, movement and humor to invite the body into the healing process. Your body houses your life story, your feelings and beliefs; it is an integral part of your healing process.

Unacknowledged feelings from past experiences are stored in your body and then unconsciously have a powerful effect on who you are, how you behave, and how you feel about yourself.

Using the body as the gateway to awareness, buried feelings and memories can surface, freeing you from old patterns and energy blocks that keep you feeling stuck and unable to live life to its fullest. Your mind may avoid certain emotions and memories, but your body remembers it all.

The uniqueness of Rubenfeld Synergy lies in the use of talk and touch together. Touch heightens your awareness, both emotionally and physically, and allows you to explore levels that are difficult to access through talk therapy alone.

All Rubenfeld Synergists have been trained by Ilana Rubenfeld and her faculty in a 3 to 4 year professional training program. Certified Rubenfeld Synergists adhere to the profession's Standards of Practice and Ethical Principles.
